Job Details
Occupational Therapist
Orri is expanding its Occupational Therapy Team, and is looking for people who are enthusiastic and passionate about Occupational Therapy to join us.
Orri provides specialist intensive day treatment for people 16 and over with eating disorders. The service offers both in person and online treatment, and our programmes offer support for clients and their families working through recovery. OT’s provide individual and group sessions as well as in action sessions both in person and online.
OT’s report directly to the Specialist OT Lead, and work alongside clients, their families and the multi-disciplinary team formulating individualised and specialist treatment pathways. The role requires an empathetic and compassionate approach, a commitment to client recovery and a commitment to creative and dynamic interventions.
Main duties and responsibilities of the role
- Building therapeutic relationships with clients at all different stages of recovery
- Undertaking assessment of the emotional and psychological needs of clients
- Formulating and implementing appropriate treatment plans and providing case management for your case load
- Working alongside the MDT to support clients treatment pathways
Qualifications and Experience
- Occupational Therapy (MSc pre-registration or BSc) and registration with HCPC
- Inpatient or community-based experience of working in mental health services, preferably with in Eating Disorder setting, but this is not essential
- Experience of working both one to one and in group settings with clients
- Experience of undertaking formulation, risk assessment and positive risk management, and working with people with mental health difficulties
Knowledge, skills and strengths
- Highly motivated, passionate and enjoy being part of a team
- Exemplary verbal and written English
- Strong organisational and IT skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced settings
- Energy and commitment to the Orri’s ethos and Philosophy
