Salary & Benefits: £50,000 to £58,149 base salary, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays. Joining us as a Senior Software Engineer in the testing team, you'll play a key role in driving quality software solutions into production. You would aim to deliver exciting customer driven solutions whilst reducing risk by implementing the right level of engineering artefacts through Agile testing, with an "Automation first" approach in every phase of the software delivery process that aids speed to market and better quality.

The role of the Senior Engineer in Test is to build our automation practices and approaches on real software delivery as well as supporting the adoption of an automation test strategy for our team. You'll balance hands on automation expertise with coaching and building up Quality Engineering standards.

Lloyds Banking Group are redefining the way we do Engineering. We've created "LBG Labs" and we're building multi-functional, co-located teams giving them freedom to bring technology to the forefront of our business. This will create new, and improve existing, products and services to help us really make a difference to our customers.

Insurance & Wealth Transformation is the division you would sit within the Financial Planning & Retirement Value Stream, which has ambitious plans to significantly grow our engineering teams this year and into 2020.

How does the Quality Test Engineer role fit in?

Joining us as a Software Engineer in Test, you'll play a key role in driving quality software solutions into production. You would aim to deliver exciting customer driven solutions whilst reducing risk by implementing the right level of engineering artefacts through Agile testing, with an "Automation first" approach in every phase of the software delivery process that aids speed to market and better quality.

Other specific activities would include defining acceptance testing criteria, endorsing modern testing approaches, working with relevant people to understand the solution choices, maintaining traceability, building trust in the quality of the product, identifying defects and lastly to be a quality engineering champion within Lloyds!

What do we need to see from applicants?

We like people who come from diverse industry backgrounds, to be seriously considered for the role we would need to see the following as a minimum;

  • Experience working at a mid-senior level within another software engineering or modern quality testing role.

  • Good knowledge of the full test lifecycle.

  • A good level of coding skill in either C#.NET or Java, ideally C# (If you are highly proficient in another language we could consider that but C#/Java would be our first choice).

  • Comfortable creating and writing medium and large test frameworks

  • Experience working within a DevOps & Agile working environment.

  • Good people skills and the ability to work in an effective, passionate & fun multi-functional team.

  • The desire to take the next step and help to lead and the team and automation testing practices.
