Role Summary

Discovery+ is a streaming service with both an SVOD (subscription video on demand) and AVOD (advertising video on demand) proposition.

We are searching for a PM that demonstrates strong ability across all the key areas of product expertise,  collaboration, and impact. The PM operates in an environment with little ambiguity and/or less complexity than Sr. PM. Product Managers consistently demonstrate good judgement, produce materials of good quality and are able to communicate the “what and why” to align teams. 

Responsibilities

  • Great affinity or understanding of Sport and how this relates to building an outstanding sports product experience
  • Good understanding of the product area, may own a feature area but receives direction and input from more senior team member(s) 
  • Skilled at product optimization and product development with direction
  • Consistently able to identify and develop product opportunities with direction/input
  • Conducts analysis to ensure the right features are built to achieve product and business goals 
  • Works at the team/squad level to ensure consistent ship cadence; ensures high quality, defect-free products
  • Understands customer; demonstrates customer empathy
  • Able to connect customer needs and opportunities with the product and business strategy
  • Use process and mechanisms to ensure product meets customer needs (quantitative and qualitative)
  • Comfortable at conducting qualitative research & A/B testing
  • Partners with Engineering, Business, and Design for feature / specific product area 
  • Consistently delivers work of high quality that helps build shared understanding and alignment on customer problems and outcomes
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills. Project Reports, Product Briefs/Opportunity Assessments, Requirements, JIRA tickets are clear and useful to the team
  • Optimizes existing team processes 
  • Delivers high quality features and optimizations; uses data to validate impact and demonstrate ability to achieve increasing levels of impact with your feature priorities
  • Analyzes product performance to understand impact of work, uses insights to inform product planning

Requirements

  • Previous experience of identifying customer problems & solutions
  • Previous experience of managing tactical execution on features
  • Needs limited amount of guidance when it comes to managing their product
  • Previous experience of owning and using customer metrics to inform decision making
  • Previous experience of influencing wider team priorities
  • Can create clear, concise written and verbal communication
