Job Title Project/Senior Land Surveyor

The Opportunity:

Laing O'Rourke are recruiting for a Project/Senior Land Surveyor to work on major projects in London and South East of England. The job combines working in an office and working on sites. This is a great opportunity to join at the early stage of the prestigious project.

What will the role look like?

  • undertaking land/topographic and engineering surveys, using a variety of specialist equipment and technology, such as robotics and 3D scanners
  • Primary and secondary control, using a co-ordinates system, national, local and HS2.
  • Setting out.
  • analysing data using plans, maps, charts and software such as AutoCAD, Civils3D, Revit/Navisworks.
  • preparing survey drawings
  • Earthworks quantification
  • Liaising with site Project Manager and Engineering team
  • Liaising with the LOR Digital Engineering team

What skills & experience are we looking for?

  • Leica is the preferred supplier of equipment to Laing O'Rourke any applicant must have significant knowledge and experience in using Leica equipment and software. Particularly Cyclone 3DR.
  • Numeracy and the ability to make mathematical calculations
  • The ability to understand and interpret data
  • Lateral and logical thinking
  • Cutting-edge IT skills and confidence with new technology
  • Problem solving and analysis
  • Attention to detail
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Organisation and time management
  • Full UK/EU driving License

Qualifications and training required

  • Degree in Geomatics/Engineering Surveying or Tech Qual (NVQ/TSA) or equivalent
  • CICES membership (Member) or equivalent
