Responsibilities
 

  • Working with the Digital Sales Manager Identify opportunities to grow revenues with new and existing clients within your assigned agency/advertiser patch (TBC)
  • Be confident client facing with the flair to build meaningful relationships with media agencies and advertisers
  • Have an entrepreneurial spirit to your day to day activities ensuring an active and growing pipeline, reporting revenues accurately to the wider team and management
  • Be a team player with the ability to work independently
  • Be deal agnostic ensuring that buyers are maximising all entry points from Programmatic through to Direct
  • Be comfortable and understand the role premium video and Display plays in the digital ecosystem
  • Have an interest in industry news and initiatives, ensuring the wider team are up to date where appropriate
  • Have the ability to work cross functionally with the wider team to continually look for new ways to innovate and ensure Discovery is well positioned to win new business
  • Be hungry for growth through sourcing and nurturing effective leads to grow spend from your assigned clients
  • Have the ability to diversify and ensure the entire portfolio is represented at pitching, from CTV through to Youtube and Display
  • Have a love for data and measurement and thrive on results
  • Have a creative mindset to sales, be confident building and maintain pitch decks and post campaign reports
  • Own campaigns from start to finish leveraging strong internal relationships to ensure clients interests are represented internally.
  • Work closely with Sales Managers and Snr Management to identify new formats and opportunities
  • Champion digital initiatives


Qualifications
 

Skills and Experience

  • 2-3 years of experience within the Digital or Broadcast industry with an understanding and experience with programmatic video preferred
  • Owns a strong list of relevant industry contacts
  • Is an excellent strategic sales person
  • Is talented at developing relationships internally and externally
  • Keeps own strategy responsive to market changes
  • Effective working in a matrix, able to maximise relationships
  • Has the vision to understand the importance of consumer insights in developing creative thinking and strategic partnerships
  • Has the courage to share opinion on challenging matters and debate them
  • Very strong financial capability & experience; plans & executes sales plans effectively
  • Ability to identify revenue opportunities 
  • Excellent presentation skills 
  • Understanding of Agency structures 
  • Experience working with Google Suite (Google Slides/Sheets/Word/Drive/GMail)
  • Solid understanding of overall media market and industry trends 
  • Knowledge of linear TV or BVOD and traditional trading
  • Understanding of Discovery Inc, the key brands and channels
  • Full understanding of the sales environment and successful practices
  • Has a passion for content
