Job Details

Join our Energy, Resources and Sustainability team in London as an Executive within the Specialised and Asset Finance (SAF) Division of the Commodities and Global Markets Group.

Our Energy, Resources and Sustainability team focusses on providing clients with tailored financing solutions which enable them to efficiently run and grow their businesses. Our expertise encompasses energy assets (including smart meters, batteries and renewable generation), mobility solutions (including EVs, charging infrastructure and scalable hydrogen technologies) and sustainable waste solutions (including full spectrum of waste streams from organics and wastewater, through to plastics and e-waste).

This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of a fast-growing area within SAF and contribute to the energy transition and decarbonisation of transport in EMEA. The energy, mobility and sustainability teams are relatively newly established but are a key focus of our business development in the next few years. This gives considerable scope for you to develop your career and achieve personal growth as the businesses grow while also contributing to the sustainability goals that are central to much of what Macquarie now does.

As a global bank headquartered in Sydney, Australia, with offices across the globe Macquarie provides the future opportunity to transfer overseas and/or to pursue different roles within the bank. We encourage all employees to own their own career and take advantage of the many options to develop personally and in work.

Joining as an Executive, you will work closely with members of the Funding and Portfolio Management team in the ongoing portfolio management of our diverse portfolio of assets and will assist with the structuring and delivery of complex transactions focused on the energy transition sector within the EMEA region.

Your responsibilities will include the management of funding and interest rate risk, delivering on-going reporting deliverables, facilitating key processes and assisting in new and ongoing transaction work.

You will have strong stakeholder management skills, and a robust approach to risk management. Excellent organisation skills are essential, combined with the ability to prioritise tasks, a high level of accuracy with a right first time approach and strong attention to detail. We would also expect you be able to re-assess / re-engineer work processes.

Prior experience in structuring transactions and managing internal or external funding arrangements will be considered favourably.

Working in our team requires entrepreneurial spirit, ambition, strong analytical and interpersonal skills, and the ability to learn new skills quickly in a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

We would value candidates who have experience in a comparable organisation and either with or in the process of obtaining a formal accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA), although this is not essential.

If you have ambition, a high level of energy and strong intellectual curiosity, coupled with the ability to think logically and commercially and be comfortable with tackling new concepts, please apply now!

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
  • Engage female Senior Managers by providing tools and support around their personal development;

The programme pairs up Senior Managers with Directors, who meet on a monthly basis, and are supported by active group sessions (bi-monthly) with an external facilitator.

We select some of the brightest minds to help us in solving complex challenges for our clients.  We recognise that recruiting talent from varied backgrounds is essential to improving our understanding of the marketplace, and enhancing creativity and problem-solving capabilities in our businesses.

Because of this, our commitment to you is to create a diverse and inclusive workplace regardless of age, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, ethnicity or cultural background.

We make this commitment not only because it is the right thing to do but it opens up a world of opportunity, securing the future of our people, our success and our business
