What is the purpose of this role?

We have a role that has become available to be part of our MOJ team at Amey. Working in a secure environment, you will be part of a team of engineers that demonstrate superb technical competency, delivering mission critical.

Fixed Term Contract for 6 months

What will this role involve?

  • To ensure all contractors tools are logged prior to entry to the prison and accounted for at the end of each day.
  • To be responsible for drawing keys and supervising the movement of contractor personnel and vehicles around the prison.
  • To escort contractors working in the prison to ensure they are supervised at all times and, adhere to prison security procedures.
  • Whilst supervising contractors, to maintain communications with the prison communications centre and advise of any issues affecting safety or security.
  • This is an operational support role with no line management responsibilities.
  • Candidates are required to be safety and security conscious, with the strength of character to challenge potential infringements of prison safety and security procedures.

What are we looking for?

  • Amey will complete a DBS for you upon successful interview and prison security clearance will be required.
  • Technical knowledge and qualifications are desirable as is DIY experience.
  • IT skills.
  • A professional customer/client focussed approach to service delivery.
  • Able to demonstrate a committed, flexible and enthusiastic approach to varying duties.
  • Ability to follow and adhere to instructions and relevant safety policies and procedures.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence.
