Our client is a charity that support people with learning disabilities in the community. They want to demonstrate that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society but they can’t do this without you! They need Support Workers in the Colchester area to make their vision a reality.

Position: Support Worker
Location: Colchester
Job type: Full Time, Part Time and Relief hours available (guaranteed hours), up to 39 hours per week - This role is shift work
Salary: £9.50 per hour overtime and sleep-ins available

About the role:

The role of a Support Worker is to ensure the people you work with are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives.

Supporting someone with a learning disability isn't just personal care; it's so much more. A Support Worker could be taking the people supported swimming, assisting with the weekly shop, or even helping to administer the right medication.

About You:

You don't need to have worked in supported living before to be a good Support Worker. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you.

You'll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English and Math is also required.

Whilst experience is not essential as full training will be provided, we very much welcome previous experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, Care Worker, Health Care Assistant, Support Worker, Nurses, Social Care Worker, Care Assistant, Mental Health Care Worker, Voluntary Worker.
