Our client is a charity that support people with learning disabilities in the community. They want to demonstrate that people with a learning disability can be leaders in society but they can’t do this without you! They need Support Workers in the Stowmarket area to make their vision a reality.

Position: Support Worker
Location: Stowmarket, Suffolk
Job type: Full time/part time & relief - This role is shift work
Salary: £9.50 per hour

Full induction process, outstanding training opportunities, development and career progression, opportunities to gain recognised qualifications, free DBS screening. The charity have recently achieved Skills for Care endorsement which is a mark of quality in recognition of the learning and development you will receive. This is evidence that their training provision makes a significant difference to the workforce and the people supported.

About the role:

The role of a Support Worker is to ensure the people you support are safe, happy and lead fulfilling lives. A Support Worker will promote independence and support people to engage in meaningful activities.

We are looking for a confident cheerful person to support a gentleman with learning disabilities and additional mobility needs in Stowmarket. He enjoys chatting to his staff and weather permitting, a walk around town in his wheelchair to visit the local café. He enjoys watching the old game shows on TV and likes staff to join in.

About You:

As a Support Worker in this service you don't need to have worked in supported living before. If you are caring, kind and want to work in a job that is genuinely rewarding, this is for you.

You'll need to have great communication skills and be comfortable making decisions. A basic level of English is also required.
