Willmott Dixon Interiors are seeking an Assistant Design Coordinator to join our team based in our Head Office in London, Farringdon(although this will continue to be a hybrid role; split between home, site and main office to suit the individual and work commitments).

As an Assistant Design Coordinator you will assist in the coordination of the design and working drawing process.

Assist in managing the design process to produce accurate information in line with the agreed specification and cost plan/estimate.

This role would suit a recent architectural graduate or someone having completed a year in industry/apprenticeship or a trainee with some experience.

Manage the appointed consultants in line with their deed and agreed scope of services.

Contribute to the production and monitoring of the design programme.

Investigate cost effective technical solutions.

Work alongside a design manager to support on larger projects.

Attend design team meetings and produce an accurate action list to all involved within 2 working days.

Assist with the production of designs that meet all necessary statutory and regulatory approvals and record on appropriate tracking logs.

To conduct their role in a way which is consistent with the company's sustainability objectives.

Identify opportunities to add value throughout the design process.

Engage with the project team and CBM Coordinator to mitigate all health and safety risks.

Be aware of projects risks and assist with their resolution.

Constantly reinforce and deliver our customer first ethic.

Essential and Desirable Criteria

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of various forms of construction technology
  • Understanding of CAD and Microsoft Office
  • Experience of working with design teams.
  • Experience of multiple or large-scale project delivery
  • Experience of reading and interpreting drawings and technical specifications
  • An understanding of environmental procedures.
  • Interaction with customers.
  • Working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Minimum relevant level 3 qualification (ONC / NVQ3 etc)
  • Appropriate CSCS card.
  • Valid driving licence

  • Construction related degree
  • Student membership of CIOB.
