Care in Mind provide residential services for young people aged 16-25 years old. The young people we care for often require a high level of support to assist with difficulties they may have from self-harming, behaviour, and emotional difficulties. Our aim is to support the young people using a therapeutic approach to help them achieve their individual goals, in preparation for transition to adult life.

At Care in Mind our homes are always a hub of activity and energy where the young people can feel safe, and our staff enjoy coming to work. You will work closely with both the residential staff and the dietetics team, and your role will involve planning and preparing quality meals for our young people, following strict meal plans, and ensuring correct portioning, labelling, and packaging of food items. You will also support all aspects of stock control, including ordering stock, receiving goods, and handling finances appropriately. As our young people work towards their own recovery, you will be flexible and compassionate, helping them to build their skills whilst their independence is promoted through cooking and baking classes facilitated by the dietetics team.

Your week will consist of working 15 hours per week over a Friday, Saturday, and Sunday between 1pm and 6pm.

The job is highly rewarding and a great start to developing your career working with young people or enhancing your previous experience of mental health with the opportunity for excellent career development.
