Are you an ambitious Operational Risk Manager with a passion for asset management?  Are you looking to join an expanding, global team?

We have an outstanding opportunity for you to join our Operational Risk & Governance team, as part of the broader Macquarie Risk Management Group. You will take on a key role in the 2nd Line of Defence, supporting the Public Investments and Private Markets businesses of Macquarie Asset Management (a top 50 Global Asset Manager) in the UK and Europe.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing independent Operational Risk & Governance oversight and challenge for the Macquarie Asset Management business in the UK and Continental Europe.
  • Driving a strong risk management culture, providing risk management expertise, independent advice and challenge to senior management.
  • Partnering with and supporting the MAM teams by ensuring processes are adequately assessed to identify potential risk causes, and controls are effectively designed and operated to mitigate a failure in people, processes or systems.

You will have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to deliver results. You will possess excellent communication skills and an ability to synthesise information to identify themes and priorities for the business. Inherent will be the opportunity to develop skills and influence approaches locally and globally. To be successful you will also need to be able to effectively build relationships, and communicate with, a wide range of stakeholders, including senior management across multiple locations.

You will bring with you a solid understanding of Operational Risk Management frameworks and their toolkits (e.g., RCSA, and Scenario analysis), working knowledge of other risk management approaches, and have experience in risk reporting.

You will have an investigative mindset, proactive curiosity and a drive to explore where business processes may fail, and with the proven ability to sustain high levels of performance in a fast-paced, output focussed environment, along with working knowledge of the regulatory environment in which Macquarie Asset Management operates will enable you to be successful in this role.

About the Risk Management Group

The Risk Management Group (RMG) is an independent, centralised unit responsible for ensuring all risk across Macquarie are appropriately assessed and managed. Its divisions include Behavioural Risk, Compliance, Credit, Financial Crime Risk, Internal Audit, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Regulatory Affairs and Aggregate Risk, and RMG Enterprise Support.
