Position: Sessional Youth Worker

Location: Edgware, London.

Salary: £10.85 per hour

Hours: Various hours available between 9 and 26 hours per week

About the role:

Many young people, particularly those from socio-economically deprived areas, face an endless maze of boredom, loneliness, and temptation, with nowhere to go and a lack of inspiring and productive activities to occupy their leisure time. The charity is dedicated to young people, and makes a bold statement about the importance of giving young people high quality places to go in their leisure time. Open 7 days a week including school holidays, their vision is to unite young people to fulfil their full potential.

We’re looking for several Youth Workers with experience of delivering activities for children and young people in the following areas:

• Youth Work
• Multi sports
• Gym/fitness suite
• Boxing and mixed martial arts
• Climbing (indoor)
• Gymnastics
• Health and well-being
• Performing arts/drama/dance
• Recreation
• Cooking
• Visual arts, textiles and arts & craft
• Film, media and podcasts
• Music (teaching, production, vocals)
• Skate park

About you:

To be successful in the role of Youth Worker you will be a role model for young people and present a positive “can do” attitude

You will also need to bring with you the following skills and experience:

• Face to face activity delivery, working with young people both in groups and individually
• Experience of delivering a range of activities to young people within your specialist area
• Experience of supporting young people who are disaffected, underachieving and / or have social / emotional barriers to participation
• Experience of working in a team and alongside volunteers
• Understanding of issues affecting young people’s lives
• A willingness to work unsociable hours
