ROLE SUMMARY

The HTA analyst will be responsible for supporting the enhanced access and uptake of pipeline and inline medicines and vaccines. They will be responsible for HTA analytics, tracking assets progressing through NICE, SMC and JCVI and helping to drive business insights from these assets relevant to the pipeline. They will also be a core member of the HTA cross-functional team, and with guidance support the development and implementation of HTA submissions, including interpreting and generating real-world and economic data that underpin our HTA submissions. Candidates would be expected to show an understanding of the technical modelling skills required for an HTA submission, have demonstrated project management and communication skills and have an analytical mindset.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Health Economics:

  • Support the design & development of simple health economic models to demonstrate the value of an asset
  • Provide financial and technical vendor management for more complex health economic modelling
  • Construct simple budget impact models
  • Build medical writing and communication skills to support the development of high-quality extracts, manuscripts, value story boards (taking into consideration of any potential data risks) and health technology assessment submission dossiers

Evidence Generation:

  • Maintain an HTA intelligence log and develop reports
  • Develop their technical and HTA knowledge to remain up to date and appropriate for input into decision making processes
  • Mange the NICE email account and ensure documents are submitted, reviewed & received on time
  • Receive technical guidance to build the skills to:
  • Critically appraise, interpret and combine complex clinical trial, real-world and epidemiological data for inclusion in an economic model
  • Using evidence hierarchies and methods of evidence generation, independently conduct systematic literature reviews (SLRs), network meta- analysis (NMA) and (population-adjusted) indirect treatment comparisons (ITCs)

Project Management:

  • Effectively utilise project management tools and principles to efficiently plan, control, monitor & review tasks & resources to deliver goals on time & within budget
  • Build an internal network such that you can identify key partners and build x-functional relationships to deliver on your project work
  • Both as an independent contributor and team player show genuine commitment and reliability to meet team goals
  • Look for a range of ways to solve problems and show good change agility
  • Effectively and efficiently communicate and exchange information to a diverse audience

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Health Economics

Experience

  • Master's program internship
  • Knowledge of UK HTA decision making processes and healthcare system
  • Experience of generating comparative effectiveness evidence (such as SLRs, NMAs)

Skills

  • Demonstrated time management skills, including the ability to manage own time and others time to meet deadlines and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Research skills with specific focus on the sourcing of data inputs for economic models
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and programming, statistical and decision analysis software such as VBA, SAS, R
