Proven procurement professional, who are ideally MCIPS or MRICS accredited, with strong post contract knowledge accompanied with signalling and telecoms (S&T) category experience required for a 12 month contract opportunity on a part time basis.

This will be an initial working from home arrangement but candidates will need to be able to commute to London in the future.

As Procurement Manager you will work on a light metro rail programme supporting the Senior Commercial Manager with the development of the procurement strategy for the signalling and telecoms category.

Responsibilities:

Developing and executing a procurement strategy for the delivery of agreed renewals and enhancement projects and contracts.
Managing procurement activities including tender process and internal governance.
Proactive stakeholder management to drive forward procurement activities ensuring alignment of outcomes
Negotiation and development of contract terms and conditions with suppliers
Experience in management and delivery of signalling contracts or similar complex technical projects
Proactively managing contract admin problems including issues escalated by project team - may include some dispute resolution and contractor engagement at a senior level. Coordinating governance and supporting passage of papers through the governance process. Working with the central Surface estimating team to support development of estimates through governance and providing input/ assurance.
Support cost management and periodic reporting, communicating issues effectively to senior leadership.
Escalating issues appropriately and proactively.
To be considered for the role candidates must have the following:

Ideally MRICS or MCIPS qualified
Proven experience working in a procurement position/department with the rail industry, ideally Transport for London
Experienced in the procurement of signalling & telecoms contracts
Strong commercial management knowledge
Good understanding of the NEC 3 form of contract
