Scholastic is the world's largest publisher and distributor of children’s books. We create brilliant books for kids of all ages from authors and brands such as Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler, Liz Pichon, Benjamin Zephaniah and The Hunger Games. We support teachers, parents and most importantly, children – connecting millions of kids with books and fostering a love of reading for pleasure that helps to boost school success and life chances through our schools channels. Every year, we give back free books to schools that partner with us, and last year supplied £6.4 million worth of free books to help stock libraries and classrooms.

But getting the right books to the right child at the right time doesn’t happen by accident. Our team of passionate and highly skilled Book Fairs Telesales people help make the magic happen and we’re looking for some new team-members to come and join us.

You’ll build strong relationships with existing and potential schools customers, growing revenues and securing bookings.  Using confident communication skills, you’ll develop successful partnerships with schools, promoting our products and services and proactively maximising sales opportunities.

Daily, weekly and term targets must be achieved individually as well as a Team and all internal systems must be updated and maintained in a timely and accurate manner.

To excel in this role you will need to have prior outbound calls experience either B2B or B2C. Outstanding communication skills, both on the phone and in written emails are essential with attention to spelling and grammar in the latter.

We would also expect you to have:

  • A strong telephone manner and ability to engage with decision makers.
  • High attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Excellent listening skills.

  • Knowledge of navigating CRM systems or databases.

  • The drive to achieve both Team and individual targets.

We offer a company pension, generous employee discount on all products and a competitive salary plus commission incentives.

If you would like to apply, please send your CV along with a covering letter quoting the job reference number 47.21.

We are an inclusive organisation and recognise the need for change and a more equal society. We welcome applications from any background and characteristic.
