Deputy Board and Company Secretary (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Location: Croydon Head Office with Hybrid working

Salary: GBP64,500 to GBP70,000 per annum + Civil Service Pension and other excellent benefits

Position Type: Permanent

Tenure: Full-Time or Part-Time can be considered (from 21 hours per week)

Our client protects millions of people in the UK who belong to defined benefit pension schemes. Their members rely on them to look after their pensions if their employers collapse and the pension schemes cannot afford to pay what they promised.

They're looking for a qualified Deputy Board and Company Secretary to join their Board Support Team. With a new Chair having been appointed in July 2021 and a new 3-year Strategy Plan to be launched in 2022, this is an exciting time to establish yourself in a professional and close-knit team.

This is a highly visible role, requiring both depth and breadth of experience. Typical responsibilities include ensuring that their various executive committees are delivered to a high standard and within best practice, maintaining excellent standards of corporate governance, and producing Management Information / reports as required for the Board and associate committees. There will also be times to deputise for the Company Secretary and mentor other members of the team to ensure individual and team objectives can be met.

They expect that interested applicants have company secretarial experience from within a financial services environment and ideally have exposure to both the public and private sector. Through your expert communication skills and stakeholder management you'll be able to work alongside and influence senior colleagues whilst demonstrating your ability to handle sensitive subject matter. You'll have high attention to detail underpinned by a thorough knowledge of corporate governance systems and processes, and be a qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Secretaries and Administrators.

Sound like you? Apply now.

In return for your skills, experience and commitment they'll give you a challenging role within a business where you'll get the support you need to develop your career.

You'll also get an outstanding rewards package which includes a generous pension scheme, private medical insurance, health cash plan, critical illness insurance, volunteering leave, holiday trading and a discretionary bonus scheme.

They'll also give you lots of opportunities for personal development and skills training.

Their Croydon office is just across the road from East Croydon station, which is around 15 minutes from Victoria or London Bridge, 10 minutes from Clapham Junction or half an hour from St Pancras.

Our client is a Disability Confident Leader, the highest accreditation under the Disability Confident Scheme. If you have a disability and meet the essential criteria for this role you will be guaranteed an interview.

They embrace diverse talent welcoming people with different beliefs, backgrounds and ways of working, and they aim to create an environment in which everyone can be themselves.

They are a flexible organisation and welcome the opportunity to talk about what arrangements may work best for you.
