Senior Product Owner (IT & non-IT Payments Projects)


Lloyds Banking Group, Commercial Business Banking Transformation

Location: London or Edinburgh based with flexibility to work from home 2-3 days per week once we return to a normal working pattern post-COVID.

Salary & Benefits: £70,080 to £96,360 base salary, plus annual personal bonus, 15% employer pension contribution (when you put in 6%), 4% flexible cash pot, private medical insurance, 30 days holiday plus bank holidays. Who are Commercial Business Banking Transformation?

This is a new Lab which is being stood up in the CBBT area in order to support the ongoing run and enhancement of an exciting new product which we have just launched. The aim is to fill a gap in the market and provide faster/higher volume payments plus refunds services to our mid - large size corporate clients. We're supporting some exciting big name companies as well as international banks.

So what would I focus on in this role?

You'll be accountable for keeping a clear vision of what is best for our corporate customers who use this new payments product, managing part of the relationship with 3rd parties and driving forward initiatives in senior management meetings, programme planning sessions and day to day life within the Agile Lab. You'll be presenting to relevant colleagues, collaborating and influencing to keep us on the right path.

A large part of the interactions will be with our engineering teams and you'll be involved in taking technical requirements, then working with our software engineering teams, architects and other IT staff, so you'll want to be comfortable interacting with those types of people.

This role will focus on our digital channels which corporate customers use to access the service, specifically the system to system connectivity using API's, File Transfer and SWIFT. To begin with this will take up most of your time.

Some of the specific tasks you'll be involved in might be; supporting the product & delivery planning, operating model development, supporting system enhancements, product specifications and elements of the detailed strategy planning.

What experience do you need to apply for this role?

We like people who come from a diverse cultural backgrounds, with different ways of thinking who can challenge our current practices.

As a minimum to apply you should have:

  • prior demonstrable experience as a Product Owner within an Agile environment,

  • knowledge from industry role experience of one of the following: Payments systems (SWIFT, BACS, CHAPS, any other) OR Commercial Banking systems involving corporate clients OR digital channels knowledge (particularly system to system connections such as API's)

  • 3rd party management experience, ideally in a business to business capacity

  • Experience working within technical projects involving software engineering projects.

Worth pointing out that this programme of work is moving very quickly, so you will need to be very comfortable working in a change environment.
