The UK Ship Register (UKSR) team works to promote the UK Flag worldwide to fulfil the mission to be the world’s best performing international flag. The UK Flag has been implementing a progressive strategy putting it at the centre of the fundamental changes disrupting the global maritime sector; namely decarbonisation and technological innovation. It is now able to accelerate growth through its customer-centric mindset and by continuing the development of its high-performing, commercially astute team.
We are currently in search of a new Data Analyst that will support the growth and change with innovative thinking and clear commercial analysis. The role will involve providing high quality analysis of data gathered from customer insight activity to inform and support marketing activity and long-term strategic planning.
You will be part of a small, dynamic team that will provide support in the collection, management and interpretation of market intelligence data relating to international flag competitors and internal data relating to the delivery of services by the MCA to the UK registered Merchant Fleet.

Occasionally you will be required to travel to our office based in Southampton, but you will be notified in advance.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
· Providing accurate and objective analysis of customer service and operational delivery data to support the Commercial Business Partner in the modelling of future marketing and operational activity.
· Being responsible for ensuring that all data held by UKSR is being captured consistently, maintained accurately and available in a clear and usable format to support the timely production of management board updates and reports in accordance with prescribed timetables.
· Being responsible for ensuring that all market intelligence data relating to other flags administrations and UKSR Customer Insight activity is maintained and the overarching performance models are regularly reviewed and updated to reflect changes to market conditions and customer requirements.
· Providing assurance that all existing data sources continue to be relevant, continue to be accurate and identify potential new data sources, both internal and external.

You will have excellent analytical skills with the ability to make recommendations based on a large amount of data. We would love someone who are adept at identifying and analysing trends in management information and providing the answers we need to keep improving and inform commercial decisions and activity.
We are looking for someone with strong Excel skills who is confident in interrogating and manipulating data through Excel.
You will be a confident person who enjoys building solid working relationships at all levels including Directors and Senior Managers. You will have strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to influence across all grades within the organisation.
You will be a team player with the ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure.

Selection process details
