Management Accountant | GBP30,000 - GBP35,000 | Burton-on-Trent | Option for Part-Time

Macildowie are currently working on a position offering the opportunity to work on a new role for an exciting business based in Burton. The role is newly created and comes as a result of business growth over the last 8 months and also forecasted growth ahead.

There is a possibility that this role could be part-time (depending on the needs of the successful candidate and the business)

This Management Accountant job reports into the Financial Controller and is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a team responsible for the production of monthly management accounts and providing management support to the business. This role adds to the existing small team, working together to produce the accounts to strict deadlines. This provides the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the accounts production to ensure all elements are completed within the time available and deadlines are met. The role also provides the opportunity to continue to develop an efficient reporting process and to provide support to the business in decision making and financial reporting.

• Preparation of Monthly Management accounts including all balance sheet reconciliations and P&L analysis
• Monthly VAT Return preparation
• Office of National Statistics reporting
• Complete customer/supplier questionnaires
• Assisting with annual external audit preparation
• Monthly supplier statement reconciliations on all key accounts
• Providing cover for weekly and monthly wages, sales ledger and purchase ledger
• Any adhoc project work for the financial controller/finance director

The key for the successful candidate in this role is that you are willing to roll your sleeves up and get stuck in - the finance team is made up of only 4 people, so its crucial that you aren't afraid to do a bit of everything.

You will ideally be qualified or studying for a professional accounting qualification (ACCA/CIMA), although this isn't absolutely necessary if you can demonstrate the right experience and personality.

You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels. You'll also be someone who loves to be in the detail, with a strong experience in budgeting and forecasting with strong organisational skills. It would be great if you have experience of working in a Manufacturing environment and working with costings.

You will have the ability to work at pace and remain consistent under pressure. You will be proactive in your approach to work with the ability to identify issue and drive actions quickly. A strong team player ethic is important, as well as a strong background with computer and accounting packages including Excel.
