What you'll do:
  • Reporting into a Production team you will be responsible for coordinating guests and live crosses for certain SSN programming.
  • Liaise with Deputy Producer, Producer & Senior Producer to ensure editorial requirements are met.
  • Liaise with Newsdesk & Sky Sports to ensure requests for live crosses and hits are not duplicated.
  • Work closely with Live Editor on live crosses and guest slots.
  • Work with Newsgathering teams to ensure Output requirements are met.
  • Work with senior members of teams to collate feedback for guests & contributors.
  • May be required to create content for Sky Sports News and Sky News Sports Bulletins.
  • Originate ideas for stories, story treatments and development of agenda setting issues.
  • Work with Sports Planners on wider stories and big events.
  • Help to achieve the best use of resources and facilities by liaising with assignments, sat-ops, travel etc.
  • Build and manage relationships across all of Sky Sports' platforms and with external partners such as professional sports clubs and governing bodies.
  • Work within the agreed departmental budget.
What you'll bring:
  • Demonstrate ability to plan and coordinate content in a fast-paced editorial environment (ideally a sports broadcaster or major news agency).
  • Demonstrate good production skills, excellent understanding of grammar, spelling & journalistic principles plus experience of working with video.
  • Demonstrate positive relationship building skills, a team player who can manage relationships with internal & external stakeholders.
  • Strong and wide-ranging sports knowledge, with good internal & external contacts.
  • Ability to work to tight budgets, cost conscious with a strong focus on value for money.
  • A strong work ethic, a willingness to work unsociable hours and a desire to get involved in all aspects of the business when necessary.
