We are looking to recruit a Work Winning (Bid) Leader to join our Central South team based in Farnborough. Our geographical region is extensive covering from the Dorset coastline up through Wiltshire, Hampshire, Berkshire and into Oxfordshire but we are fully supportive of the successful candidate working flexibly from both home and in the office during a standard week.

You will ideally have a track record of winning projects in a competitive environment. You will be responsible for leading the first stage bid process on projects ranging in value from £10m to £75m across a wide range of sectors. You should have a strong customer focus to understand what will make a winning bid and an ability to motivate and lead a team of subject matter experts to a successful outcome. Construction knowledge is advantageous but not essential.

Strong team leadership skills - Lead the team assembled for the Proposal, who will come from other departments and outside the business. You will:

• Identify and assemble the people needed to produce and win the bid
• Motivate and inspire them to get the best from the whole team
• Agree individual roles and responsibilities
• Check progress and support bid team members
• Provide feedback to bid team members about their performance on the bid

Lead the bid strategy - Contribute to and create bid win plan, then consistently communicate this to the team throughout so that the bid is developed in line with the strategy. You will:

• Understand the entire bid submission and influence our approach to align with the 'win plan',
• Revisit the strategy when it is needed
• Be accountable for everything that goes in the bid
• Define and influence the visual presentation of the submission

Creating customer focused content - Being a strong bid writer, you will make sure all the written content in the bid is clear and compelling by:

• Owning individual answers (planning and scripting)
• Briefing other bid writing contributors
• Checking the quality of other contributors work and feeding back and/or intervening
• Signing off all the written content before the Director peer review.
