Part-Time Accounts Assistant (approx. 20 hours)

This specialist construction and renovation organisation are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join the team. You will be supporting the Accounts Manager with the day-to-day responsibilities of the Finance Office on a part time basis. A varied role, you will be assisting with payroll, all aspects of the purchase ledger and VAT. This role would be perfect for someone looking to continue their already strong finance experience in a collaborative environment and to be a longstanding member of the company covering for the Accounts Manager in their absence.

This is a part time role; ideally you will be happy to work 4 hours each day (Monday to Friday) however there is some flexibility around this.

Accounts Assistant Responsibilities

As the Accounts Assistant some of your main duties will include:

Maintaining sales and purchase ledgers
Being the first point of contact for all queries
Managing credit control
Reporting
Scheduling invoices
General administration support to the finance function as required.
Accounts Assistant Experience

The ideal candidate will have in depth accounts experience relating to purchase ledgers and VAT, an AAT qualification is desirable however not essential. Most importantly, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, be a strong team player and able to problem solve and work towards deadlines. A background in construction or a similar industry would be beneficial however not essential.
