Bank Emergency Care Assistant

Location: Lordswood, Chatham ME5 8RZ

Salary: GBP14.00 per hour

Hours: Zero hours with various shifts available including days, nights and weekends

We are seeking enthusiastic Emergency Care Assistants/Emergency Care Support Workers with a caring disposition to join our team on our new High Dependency Unit.

As an Emergency Care Assistant (ECA) you will play an important role transporting higher-acuity patients as part of a clinically defined package of care.

The primary purpose of the role is to deliver high standards of care as part of an ambulance crew including undertaking emergency transportation between hospitals and other places of care.

You will be required to work as part of a dynamic clinical team including Emergency Medical Technicians and Paramedics.

A paid induction programme into the role is provided and you will have the opportunity to access additional training to support the care you provide. Further career progression pathways are available to all staff, including the opportunity to undertake study to register with the HCPC as a paramedic.

The Ideal Candidate:

Criteria:

Level 4 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care or equivalent
Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving Course (L3 CERAD) or equivalent
A caring attitude towards patients and the ability to show empathy
Experience of working within a team
High level of literacy and numeracy
Able to provide examples of diversity in practice
Able to work within challenging and complex situations
Evidence of ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships at all level

Applicants will need to demonstrate ongoing continuing professional development including annual update training in line with the Skills for Health Core Competencies framework.

This role requires the ability to work with vulnerable, complex patients who may require the need for medical treatment during transport. Because we are dealing with the vulnerable in a patient care environment, a full enhanced DBS check and additional vetting is required.
