VAT Advisor - Part-time or Full-time - Engineering Business - East Hertfordshire - Circa GBP40k-GBP50k plus benefits package
Robert Walters are hiring for a VAT Advisor for a international engineering company based in East Hertfordshire (but with the ability to do some working from home).
This is permanent role that can be considered either on a full-time or part-time basis (3 or 4 days a week, or shorter hours across 5 days).
Working as part of a high-class in-house tax team, the VAT Accountant will work closely with the Head of Tax and Group Tax Manager, and will support the business in the UK&I on a range of VAT and Indirect Tax issues.
Responsibilities include:
- Timely and accurate tax compliance obligations, including:
- Preparation of the VAT returns for companies and JVs;
- Preparation of monthly Intrastat supplementary returns
- Preparation of CIS monthly returns
- Assist the team in other areas of tax that include but are not limited to;
- Provision of tax technical advice to the business on VAT, Customs, CIS and other taxes
- Technical research
- Liaising with other departments to assist them with tax queries
- Maintaining and updating working knowledge of tax laws and regulations, including new filing practices, deadlines, and any company-specific information.
The company are looking for someone with good experience in UK VAT - This could be gained either from working in practice or in industry.
Ideally you will be fully or part-qualified for ACA / ACCA / ICAS / CTA etc, though candidates qualified by experience will also be considered.
The position comes with a salary of circa GBP40,000-GBP50,000 plus benefits package - This would be pro-rated for a part-time applicant.
