Academic and Student Support Manager
Base Location: London, Middlesex Street (Hybrid working)


Located within the London Campus and reporting to the Head of Campus Operations, will have responsibility for the day-to-day management and team leadership of Academic Support and Student Engagement professional services staff working for the London Faculty.

The Academic and Student Support Manager will contribute as part of the wider Northumbria University London Campus support management team to ensure the delivery of a student-engaged, integrated, effective and efficient programme support function for Northumbria University, in conjunction as appropriate with colleagues within QA Higher Education and University Partner.


Key Responsibilities
·Ensuring high service standards, excellent and consistent practice of support for all Northumbria University London delivered programmes. This includes reviewing, developing and implementing University-wide processes in line with accompanying policies and working closely with administrative and academic colleagues.
·Lead and manage designated professional support staff ensuring an effective interface with Northumbria University partners to ensure the service is delivered efficiently.
·Develop and maintain a thorough working knowledge and understanding of partnership regulation and provide advice to colleagues when required.
·Providing a key point of contact on student and programme administration matters for QA and University staff

Experience/ Skills
·Previous experience in the higher education sector in a similar or related position(s) or relevant experience in another sector, in either case demonstrating development through involvement in a series of progressively demanding work roles
·Proven leadership skills, including the ability to develop operational plans and coordinate their execution; and experience of introducing new organisational methods, processes and procedure
·Previous experience at working with a University, including working knowledge of academic registry and programme support functions and student engagement
