Our Organisation
Leisure at Cheltenham boasts excellent swim, gym, indoor and outdoor sports facilities including a main pool, teaching pool, diving pool, and Splash Pad that aim to cater for all ages and abilities.
Due to the popularity of our swim classes and pool facilities, we have exciting developments planned as we continue to grow our Leisure team, and we are passionate about inspiring individuals to get active, learn, socialise, and exercise.
Although we have exciting plans, each team member means a lot to us. Our swim team consists of 22 teachers, and we all strive to grow together, learn together, we truly value and care about our team, and we offer excellent training development programmes.
The Role - Swimming Instructor
As part of a team of Swimming Instructors, you will deliver safe, professional swimming lessons to children and adults of all ages and abilities. Your duties will include:
* Welcoming all participants, promoting a positive image of our facilities
* Planning and delivering structured lessons, classes, and sessions
* Overseeing the work of Assistant Instructors
* Ensuring the health and safety of all participants
* Monitoring the progress of Swim School students
The Package
* Permanent contract
* A pay rate of GBP15.28 per hour (equivalent to GBP19,864 per annum based on 25 hours per week)
* Flex with hours worked, with a variety of part time contracts to choose from, with opportunities to work during our daytime programme running 9:30am to 3pm or 4pm to 6pm Monday to Friday and 8am to 10:30am Saturday mornings

Our Requirements - Swimming Instructor
* Level 2 Swim England Qualification for Teaching or STA Qualification for Teaching Swimming
* Confident swimmer
* Keen interest in sport, with enthusiasm for keeping fit
* Excellent verbal communication skills
* Willingness to undertake appropriate training, including First Aid training
* Some flexibility required with days and hours worked
If you are currently Level 1 qualified, we can offer volunteering opportunities where you will work alongside our qualified swim instructors and receive support to achieve your Level 2 Qualification.
