Linc Cymru are offering the opportunity to join our team as a Relief Chef, working within our Independent Living extra care Schemes in Cardiff, Newport and Mid Glamorgan. All our schemes provide the opportunity for people to live as active and as independent lives as possible, living in their own homes with support tailored to their individual needs. This accommodation provides a real alternative to residential care.

With a dedicated kitchen team and dining room, we are looking for someone who enjoys working in a busy and fast paced environment. Your role will be in a busy kitchen, which provides delicious meals for our tenants and sometimes their family and friends too.

What does this Relief Chef job entail?

Responsible for cooking daily fresh meals for our tenants.
In the absence of the Chef Manager, you will also lead the team to ensure consistently high standards of service and undertake general kitchen management duties no two days will be the same.
You will be responsible for preparing and serving meals along with supporting the team to set up the dining room and with all aspects of meal preparations and the daily close down of the kitchen.
Leading by example is key, so if you work in a 'clean as you go' way, this role will be perfect for you! Keeping the kitchen, dining room and equipment sparkly clean is important, so you'll need to ensure that the team of Food Service Assistants keep on top of daily tasks to maintain excellent quality food and customer service.

This is a Bank position where hours will be offered to the successful applicant to support the schemes where needed.

Access to a your own transport is desirable as you will be required to work across all the Extra Care Schemes.

What you can expect from us:

Hours available between 8:00am - 2:00pm, Monday to Sunday (times and days flexible)
Flexible hours dependant on your availability and the needs of the scheme
Hourly Pay: GBP11.24
Rota available 1 month in advance so you can plan around your other commitments
Enhanced mileage pay when travelling between sites
Dedicated Learning & Development team to support with any training needs
Free onsite parking
