What it's like to work here

Unrivalled in its position at the foot of Windermere, Fell Foot is unique in the Lake District with its collection of gothic revival boathouses and gently sloping parkland. Fell Foot is well loved locally - a place where many of us played as children and spent summers splashing about in the lake.

A note from Alex (Food & Beverage Manager): "We are a happy and hardworking team here at Fell Foot. We are looking for a like-minded Kitchen team member to join us, someone who can demonstrate the ability and drive to 'hit the ground running' and help cook up a storm in our busy kitchen. You'll also be knowledgeable and passionate about keeping our food safe and of the highest quality. Every penny we make goes directly back into our cause, which is maintaining Fell Foot and our promise to conservation, land and nature, for everyone forever. Do you think this is a role for you or do you know someone would can fulfil this role?. We'd love to hear from you if you have a great attitude and lots of enthusiasm!"

Interviews: This is an immediate start, interviews will be held by appointment on receiving applications. You will not be required to work evenings, split shifts and will be off on Christmas Day as the property is fully closed to the public. You will receive a bespoke induction on appointment and further professional training & development opportunities are available.

What you'll be doing

As a key member of our Food & Beverage team, you'll support the chef in preparing a range a tasty food for our hungry visitors in the Boathouse Caf??. As a kitchen team member you'll assist in preparing freshly made sandwiches, baking our signature scones and tasty bakes and cook a small range of light snacks. You'll also help maintain a clean and hygienic working environment.

With your attention to detail you'll ensure each dish is fresh, tasty and beautifully presented every time.

Whilst your core focus will be in the kitchen, from time to time you may be required to support our front of house team; serving hot food, cakes and snacks, preparing hot drinks, scooping ice cream, taking orders, table clearing and pot washing - all whilst providing exceptional service in everything you do.

Who we're looking for

  • Passionate about food and a good team player
  • Fun, energetic and supportive
  • Good working knowledge of Food safety and allergen awareness
