Role Profile

ZSL is looking for an Engagement Officers to play a crucial role in the visitor facing journey at ZSL London Zoo. They will be responsible for guest welcome, the manning of walk-through exhibits in conjunction with the animal teams, delivery of the daily talk programme, pop up immersive experiences and seasonal events.

We have multiple positions available as follows:

* One position working 4 days a week (Wednesday - Saturday)

* One position working 2 days a week (Friday - Saturday)

* One position working 2 days a week (Sunday - Monday)

Main Duties and Responsibilities

* Welcome guests/visitors and create a safe, relaxed, and fun environment for their visit

* Entertain and engage guests through the delivery of animal talks, tours, experiences, and activities.

* Be the first point of call for overseeing any guest issues i.e. late comers to experiences, complaints etc.

* Leading the daily volunteer team in the stewarding of animal exhibits.

* Ensuring the highest standards of customer care and engagement are maintained across the team at all times.

Person Specification

* Educated to degree level in a relevant subject or able to demonstrate equivalent critical skills based on experience (i.e. animal welfare, conservation, performing arts, hospitality etc)

* Experience in delivering formal/informal talks and activity

* Experience of working with volunteers

* Experience working with children or young people in either a formal or informal environment is essential.

* Experience in delivering excellent customer service

* Experience of working in a fast-paced visitor attraction
