Based in SW London, a driven and dynamic market-leading law firm is looking to appoint an experienced Business Development Manager working part-time 3 or 4 days per week on a 12 month fixed term contract basis to ensure the operational delivery of a first class BD and marketing service to specific sector groups which proactively contributes to the development of the firm's growth strategy.

The role holder will work very closely with key Insurance and Local Authority Heads of Sector, supporting them in their client development and sales roles. The successful applicant will support the growth of the firm by producing sector strategic plans as part of the business planning programme, developing sector propositions and key messages and setting and managing a calendar of strategic campaigns. You will be responsible for the sales strategy for major accounts, including target setting and producing plans for top targets and clients. Sales account and opportunity management will represent an important element of the role and the Business Development Manager will need to proactively manage relationships with key sector and industry contacts, publications, websites and other external bodies. The successful applicant will work with the bids team to identify client mobilisation priorities and manage client on-boarding. On the marketing side you will need to develop tactical and strategic marketing plans that support sector objectives and facilitate face to face relationship building. You will be responsible for the production of literature, flyers, updates, award entries and will co-ordinate the publication of thought leadership materials. You will also work with the events team to manage an agenda of events that will help sector groups enhance their brands and generate leads in a cost effective manner.

You will be an existing BD professional with experience of working in either a legal or professional services environment and will be able to demonstrate proven experience of managing sectors and of delivering commercial solutions which are engaging, creative and realistic. With an excellent understanding of the full range of marketing and business development activities necessary for a progressive organisation, the Business Development Manager will also enjoy juggling multiple priorities against tight deadlines and will possess outstanding communication and presentation skills and the ability to engage successfully at all levels.
