Rate of Pay: there are 2 rates of pay for this role:
• GBP12.50 per hour for care provided to the Employer at their home address and accompanying the Employer to social events; and
• GBP16.50 per hour for care provided to the Employer at their place of work in Birmingham.
Nature of the job role: A position has arisen for a Personal Assistant to assist with 4 bed calls a week 10pm until 10.30pm Monday to Thursday inclusive. The role would involve providing drinks, clearing away dishes, preparing a bed, providing minimal personal care and assisting with letting a dog out into the garden.
It is intended that the successful candidate will also be a bank member of staff to cover shifts/calls when the Employer's 2 current PAs are on leave during weekdays and weekends. Additional shifts would be subject to prior mutual agreement and would involve helping to support the Employer both at home and on occasion at work with usual domestic duties and basic work tasks such as passing paperwork, getting drinks and food and personal care. You will be required to work flexibly in negotiation with the Employer and the working hours will be as and when needed.
Main Duties:
Personal Duties; Personal care, ensure safety at all times, manual handling and lifting will be required
Domestic duties; The preparation of meals and drinks as necessary. Support with washing up, tidying, household tasks and cleaning. Assisting with shopping which may include going to the shop without the Employer on behalf of them to purchase goods. Assisting with caring for the Employer's dog eg. Putting him out in the garden, feeding, walking etc. Assisting the Employer to re-fuel her car.
Social duties; Assisting with activities in and out of the Employer's home. Accompanying the
Employer to social events and appointments as required.
Hours of work; 10pm until 10.30pm Monday to Thursday inclusive. Additional hours to cover holiday and sick leave may also be agreed with the Employer.
Qualifications; Enhanced DBS check essential or willing to get one before starting employment
Skills and experience; Ability to carry out general domestic tasks, manual handling and lifting and ability to fulfil a caring role. The ideal employee will be caring, honest, reliable, responsible and patient, with a good sense of humour. They must be good with dogs and pets. Reliability and good time-keeping is essential! The employee should be able to use their own initiative, have good communication and inter-personal skills. A full UK driving licence and use of own car with business insurance is required. Any candidate must be willing to work as a team. If required to cover a weekend or morning call, any candidate must be able to confidently blow dry and style hair. In terms of domestic duties, a person who enjoys cooking and making fresh meals would be
ideal too. A previous care background is not necessary.

If the employee is required to cover shifts at the Employer's office, administrative experience is preferred but is not essential however any candidate must have a professional manner and be able to fit in to a professional environment. The position would suit someone that has had previous experience working in an office environment.
