Further Information:

A Personal Assistant is required in the West Hull area for 4 hours a week to assist a 17 year old young man who is partially sighted, has cerebral palsy and can display challenging behaviour, so you will know how to deal with his behaviour and always remain calm and collected

He also has epilepsy, but this is well controlled by medication. He can walk short distances, but does have a wheelchair for use as well. The 4 hours are required for 2 hours between 7.00pm and 9.00pm on a Monday and 2 hours between 6pm and 8pm on a Thursday to enable the young man to attend football training. The young man likes to go out and to be kept occupied.

Applicants should also have a strongly developed sense of social justice in supporting the social inclusion of disabled people in their local community. In addition they should be honest, reliable, and good at communicating, tolerant and non-judgemental and able to build good relationships based on trust and respect.
