Principal Quality Engineer - Part Time

Would you like to play a key role carrying out specialist Quality activities? We currently have a vacancy for a Principal Quality Engineer at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.

As a Principal Quality Engineer, you will be leading Business Process improvement activities, conducting internal quality assurance audits and activities, and liaising with other areas of the quality function, business functions and processes.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to learn about the Submarines Business and work with a variety of Functions to provide Quality Assurance to meet programme and contractual quality conditions.

Your main responsibilities as a Principal Quality Engineer - will involve:

    Supporting and facilitating Business Process improvement activities to further improve the Quality culture within the organisationLeading Audits, Investigations and Root Cause ActivitiesLeading Business audit programme planning and improvement activitiesManaging corrective actions and identifying and supporting quality riskProviding Quality Assurance support to business functions and processes
Your skills and qualifications:

Essential:

  • Experienced in leading internal audits
  • Experience in leading Quality Improvements utilising Quality tools and techniques to improve process performance
  • ISO 9001:2015/AQAP 2110 knowledge & application
  • Facilitation/Stakeholder management skills
  • Desirable:

  • Lead auditor qualified
  • Member of the CQI
  • Experience of Root Cause Analysis (RCA) methodologies; Fishbone, 5 Why, relationship diagrams, six sigma etc. gathering and analysing evidence cross functionally
  • Experience leading audit programme planning and management
  • Experience in providing coaching for internal auditors

    You will have the ability to build relationships within the team and the business. This includes team working and working autonomously at times under own initiative, which is key to this role. Furthermore, you will have ability to be authoritative whilst maintaining a positive working relationship with various stakeholders
