As a VAT Manager, you will be joining a fantastic charity, dealing with all VAT compliance matters as well as assisting with advisory work. The role will also involve other areas of tax such as corporate and payroll tax.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure that all tax returns are completed accurately and filed appropriately. This includes corporate tax returns and quarterly and annual group VAT returns.
• Provide training and guidance to ensure that wider finance teams are able to identify and raise potential tax issues.
• Offer tax planning ideas for tax savings and guidance on new and existing business activities.
• Undertake monthly VAT reverse charge analysis.
• Communicate and propose solutions on key tax issues
• Update the finance team on key tax risks and how they are being mitigated
• Ensure policies, processes and controls related to tax matters are in place, effective and updated when necessary to meet changes in tax legislation.
• Maintain and update our partial exemption methodology and ensure that is properly applied.

Skills & Experience required:

• Full or part qualified chartered tax adviser
• Good basic knowledge of all types of taxation
• Experience in Business/Non-Business Partial Exemption Method
• Experience of VAT groups
• Strong Excel Skills and basic accounting skills
