Part time Kitchen Assistant - CareTech - The Willows, Gorefield, PE13 4NQ

Salary GBP9,360 per annum/GBP9 per hour (20 hours per week)

The Willows Hospital has an exciting opportunity for someone who is dedicated, passionate and driven; who wish to start their career in Mental Health Services. We are a Rehabilitation and Recovery Service who opened in March 2020, which is situated in Wisbech near Peterborough where our multidisciplinary team offer high quality recovery, focused care to adults with a range of mental health needs.

Job Summary:

To organise and control the efficient and economic production of quality food within the allowed budget, whilst ensuring high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained.

1. Prepare, cook and serve meals, hot and cold, as appropriate.

2. Provide special diets where necessary as well as taking into account the preferences of individual Clients.

3. Be responsible for the washing up after meals and the overall cleaning of the kitchen and where appropriate the dining area.

4. Maintain an accurate record -list of food supplies, freezer temperatures requirements, etc. where requested / required.

5. Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas.

6. Maintain complete confidentiality of all matters concerning the Hospital, Clients, Staff and related work.

7. Participate in Staff and Client meetings and attend training sessions as required.

8. Understand and ensure the implementation of the Hospital's Health and Safety Policy, Emergency and Fire Procedures.

9. Report any faulty appliances, damaged furniture or equipment and any potential hazard to the Hospital Manager.

10. Adhere to all Group policies and procedures within the defined timescales, NCSC standards and guidelines, Department of Health guidelines and legislation, including the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice.

11. Undertake other duties, as required, by the Clinical Lead Nurse or the Hospital Manager.
