Overview
 

The Data Analyst role will be placed within the Content Operations team, which sits in the Content Management group. The key responsibility of the Content Management group is to manage the tracking of content through the production, reversioning and languages processes to ensure it is publication ready before handoff for technical distribution. An essential driver for this process tracking is data. This role will ensure the data used for evaluating the timelines, the team and workflows is dynamically updated to be as accurate as possible for our analytical purposes.


Responsibilities
 

  • Daily checks of various tracking platforms - databases, GSheet or excel trackers among others.  Ensuring data integrity and consistency Methodically updating, automating, as new information is available.  Collating a wide range of metrics to present in various formats as needed; to provide insight into volumes and timelines. To build self-knowledge and understanding of the data and lifecycle of information as it flows through Discovery’s systems and in-turn to educate the team of how this data is integral and useful. To train other team members in standardised, accurate and relevant collation of data enabling reporting to identify operational efficiencies/inefficiencies. To be confident and competent in recommending more efficient ways of tracking and presenting data to teams. To support the Director, Manager and Supervisors in data requests and in turn managing KPIs for teams and workflows.


Qualifications
 

  • A detailed awareness of the Content Management workflow and systems A self-starter who is able to work independently but collaboratively  Educated to A Levels standard, or equivalent qualifications. Microsoft Office particularly Excel skills to intermediate/advanced level. Google Suite (Gmail, Google Drive, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Docs). Ability to work with data and identify patterns from within complex datasets. An enthusiasm for data analytics and the intelligence it can provide for the business. Able to work quickly and accurately under pressure. Desire to take ownership of a set of tasks and responsibilities. Flexible approach to work with a willingness to learn new skills. Aptitude for solving technical problems efficiently and accurately. Organised and able to multi-task. Clear, calm and concise communication with colleagues; both verbally and written. Diplomatic

  • Dealing with multiple scheduling and media management systems  Processing data for 28,000 Programme units  Processing data for 70,000 Languaging Hours Managing non-confidential team data for a team of 46+ Reporting into the Content Operations Director
