We are seeking two Non-Executive Directors to join our Board of Directors at an exciting time in our development and we are keen to appoint talented individuals who are as passionate as we are about supporting visual artists.

Founded nearly forty years ago, DACS is a flagship organisation that champions artists' sustained and vital contribution to the creative economy. In 2020, 72,000 artists and estates benefited from a share of over GBP15 million in royalties through DACS.

In the wake of the pandemic, DACS launched its Manifesto for Artists . Crowd-sourced from artists' responses and based on their experiences of the impact of Covid-19, the Manifesto sets out the key policy changes that can make a material and significant difference to the financial sustainability of visual artists in the wake of the pandemic. We have set out a road map of how DACS will lobby to secure these changes in the medium and long-term, working in partnership with other organisations and agencies to deliver tangible results that support artists.

DACS' Board of Directors is instrumental in enabling DACS to continue to adapt, evolve and improve to maintain our leading position as the go-to organisation supporting the business of being an artist and the administration of artists' estates.

As a Board Director, with your colleagues you will be responsible for the overall strategic direction of DACS, business planning and making sure that DACS is delivering the highest quality services in the best interest of artists. We are looking for individuals who are as passionate as we are about transforming the financial landscape for artists and artists' estates. In addition, you will have the relevant skills for the particular vacancy you are applying for:

Finance: With significant senior-level financial and risk management experience and expertise, you will bring excellent commercial acumen with the ability to think creatively, commercially and strategically to analyse financial issues and assess financial risks in their wider business context.

Commercial Gallerist: With extensive experience as a Commercial Gallerist and a deep knowledge and understanding of the contemporary art market, you will be committed to bringing your knowledge, experience and commercial acumen to the Board to help to transform the financial landscape for artists and artists' estates.

The time commitment for this post is equivalent to 1 day per month with an annual stipend of up to GBP4,876.

Further information about the role, together with an application pack can be downloaded from our website via the button below.

Closing date for applications: Wednesday 2nd February 2022 at midday. Applications received after this date and time will not be considered.
