About the Team:
To ensure that the designs for their product area are representative of the latest fashion trends whilst reflecting the Next brand in order to meet the expectations of our customers.

About the Role:

  • To plan and create a vision for their product area and make proposals to their line manager and product teams, be it potential new business or existing areas of growth.
  • Evaluate supplier base to ensure the best are being selected to suit their strengths and capabilities.
  • Work with buying and technology to best manage the full prototype process and execution.
  • Regularly conduct store visits to find out about the success of your product in store and online, and use this intel to build future ranges.
  • Attend comp shop trips both in the UK and Internationally to source the most innovative inspiration. Present back your findings to the wider team using visuals such as mood boards, look books and reference samples.
  • Successfully manage, motivate and develop Junior members of your team. Conduct performance reviews, set objectives to ensure they are meeting key departmental competencies.

 

Criteria

About You:

  • A highly enthusiastic designer who has previous experience of designing and developing Womenswear Wovens, in particular blouses.
  • Passionate and creative with a real vision for designing new product ranges and exceeding sales expectations
  • A good understanding of supply base, fabrics and trims
  • Great commercial awareness and a comprehensive understanding of trends
  • An excellent team player
  • Degree or HND in fashion or textiles.
  • Excellent oral / literary skills.
  • Organisational / planning skills (time management).
  • Basics PC skills.
  • Enthusiasm and dedication.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Excellent communication skills (willingness and ability to liaise with colleagues, suppliers, manages on a professional level.
