Catering Assistant - Full-Time (40 hours) - Part Time (24 Hours)

Our Client, an independent specialist further education college for people with physical disabilities, acquired brain injuries and associated learning difficulties are looking for multiple Catering Assistants to start work immediately on their site based in the outskirts of Cheltenham.

This is a permanent position with Full time working 40 hours a week over 7 days (including weekends) with 8.am - 4 pm and 10 am - 6 pm shifts. Part Time hours will cover 24 hours per week.

Part-time weekend shifts are also available covering 16 hours (Sat-Sun)

You may be asked to work additional hours or different shifts according to the needs of the students

The salary for this role is GBP9.45 from January 2022

The purpose of this role is to provide a high standard of service by providing food and beverages for students and staff You will be required to carry out manual domestic duties, which includes various aspects of manual handling and carrying. You may also be required to assist with other off-site facilities on occasion.

**Own transport will be necessary due to site location**

Primary Duties:

Serve customers food and cash handling, post Covid-19
Participate in special functions/activities which may be outside normal working hours
Clean and prepare service and dining areas
Prepare light refreshments and beverages
To establish and maintain a high level of customer service for students, parents, and other visitors
To adhere to and always comply with organisation policies and procedures Occasional Duties

Prepare and participate in special days
Support the catering team in the kitchen
Support the catering team during out of term periods
Undertake any other duties which may be reasonably requested by the Bistro & Catering Manager, Head Chef /Duty Chef
A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate is desirable; however, this is not essential and full training will be provided.

All new staff joining will also be eligible to receive a welcome bonus of up to GBP250 (pro-rata) upon successful completion of their probation.

Please note that all applicants will be expected to undertake a DBS Disclosure, and undergo the necessary employer checks. The level of disclosure to be applied for will be dependent on your job role and will be discussed with you during the recruitment process but is usually an enhanced level.
