A leading set of commercial Chambers are looking for an experienced HR Manager to join them for this stand-alone role on a part-time basis, ideally 3 days a week.

Reporting to the CEO, the incumbent of this important role will be responsible for leading on all aspects of HR operational support function within Chambers. The successful applicant will be responsible for all aspects of employment strategy including terms and conditions, performance management, training and development, reviewing and developing HR Policies and procedures, implementing best practice in relation to recruitment of all employees, pupils and barristers, and provide guidance on ED&I issues.

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Providing HR strategic and operational advice and guidance to senior management.
  • Managing the end-to-end recruitment cycle.
  • Developing the recruitment process and onboarding of employees and pupils/new tenants.
  • Managing the HR Administration in relation to annual appraisals and annual pay review.
  • Maintaining the Employee Handbook.
  • Working with the Facilities Manager to ensure employees comply with all Health & Safety requirements.
  • Create regular reports and presentations on HR metrics for senior management.

The successful applicant will have the following:

  • Experience of working in a stand-alone capacity within the HR environment and having a solid, generalist HR operational background is essential.
  • Exposure to strategic HR would be advantageous.
  • Experience of developing and implementing ED&I initiatives would be advantageous.
  • CIPD qualified and a track record of HR management experience.
