Job Details

Our Green Investment Group's (GIG) global offshore wind business is responsible for the successful management and delivery of a pipeline of 15+ GW of offshore wind projects, the origination of new opportunities and partnerships as well as the provision of asset management and advisory services to third party investors. The organisation is currently looking to strengthen its capabilities, organisation and operational infrastructure to better meet the evolving needs of the rapidly expanding business.

In this newly created role, you will report to the Head of O&M of GIG’s global Offshore Wind business, responsible for developing and benchmarking operational lifetime budgets across our global portfolio. You will take ownership for cost modelling of new O&M concepts and provide relevant high-quality financial analysis on O&M activities to support effective commercial decision-making.

You will have responsibility for creating a suite of tools, procedures and metrics that deliver clear and consistent results, working with colleagues to optimise overall LCOE and bid strategies. You will further be embedded in the commercial evaluation of next generation offshore wind technologies, in particular the development of O&M concepts for floating wind. You will provide insight and independent advice across the project lifecycle, developing robust OPEX and availability analysis.

You will coordinate with internal stakeholders and partners to support the delivery of new operational assets, and proactively work with external stakeholder groups across the wider supply chain, partners and investors to develop robust benchmarks and cost-reduction pathways. You will be a subject matter expert for OPEX and availability queries and support colleagues in wider M&A activities.

To be successful in this role, you will have at least 7 years of cumulative experience in financial modelling, bringing deep sectoral knowledge from offshore wind operations. You will be highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint, enjoy working with large financial models, and have experience with relevant software packages such as PowerBI, management of SQL databases or similar. Previous experience in digitalisation and automation of processes would also be desirable.

If you possess a strong sense of accountability, are comfortable at communicating complex technical issues to senior stakeholders, enjoy collaboration across functional and geographic boundaries, and want to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, we want to hear from you.

Working at Macquarie

We believe in providing a positive environment for all our staff that is innovative and inspiring. For our female staff, Macquarie’s senior leaders are actively involved in increasing the representation of females in management positions.  In June 2014, we launched a mentoring programme for females, with the following two objectives:

  • Address female retention rates at Senior Manager level and improve our diverse pipeline of talent;
