Functional Consultant

 

Would you like to support business critical systems and work on a Digital Transformation Programme within BAE Systems? We currently have a vacancy for a Functional Consultant at our site in Rochester.

 

As a Functional Consultant, you will be responsible for supporting and enhancing Business Applications used by the Operations functions: Manufacturing, Support and Industrialisation, Quality and Supply Chain, primarily Siemens OpCenter and Teamcenter Unified Architecture. This is an exciting time to be joining the team as we are working on a Digital Transformation Programme, which includes a Siemens MES and PLM implementation that impacts over a thousand users as well as an Oracle Cloud Apps implementation starting in 2022.

 

This role will provide you with the opportunity to develop your skills in a small team where you will work to improve the experience of our end users across a variety of different business applications. It will involve collaboration with internal business customers, application developers, the wider IT team, IT service providers and software vendors.

 

 

Your main responsibilities as a Functional Consultant will involve:

 

  • Working on the implementation and support of our Siemens OpCenter and Teamcenter Unified Architecture (Rich Client and AWC) systemsAssisting with and leading the assessment, analysis, planning, design and implementation of system changes whilst working to increase end user knowledge of existing business systemsWorking closely with internal customers to establish and document business requirements, identifying potential solutions and influencing key stakeholdersManaging solutions through the entire deployment lifecycle from inception through to supportProviding 2nd line support as well as working with vendors to resolve standard bugs identified in commercial off the shelf business systemsWorking as part of a small, multi-disciplined IT team on continuous improvement activities, focused on efficiency and customer experience

 

Your skills and qualifications:

 

Essential:

 

  • A good understanding of manufacturing business processesExperience using and supporting Siemens OpCenter or CamStar, preferably configuration and customisation of this application. This includes knowledge of the production order execution, security, defect tracking and non-conformance, process planning and calibration management modulesExperience using Teamcenter Unified Architecture Rich Client and AWC, particularly the manufacturing planning module

Desirable:

 

  • Knowledge of one or more of the following Teamcenter Modules: electronic design with EDM integration, mechanical design with integration to Creo, change management, document management, component management, classification, securityExperience with Oracle EBS 11i would be advantageousBe degree-level qualified or equivalent experience in a relevant field would be beneficial

 

What we are looking for in you:

 

You should have good communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders. You should be enthusiastic, self-motivated and able to prioritise your own workload and be able to work either independently or as part of a team. Having a desire to acquire new skills and proactively being able to problem solve is also highly beneficial.

 

 

Location: Rochester

 

Salary: £25,000-£35,000 depending on experience
