Part-time basis, ideally working 10-15 hours over 4 days

JOB PURPOSE

To provide an effective, efficient, confidential, and professional administrative support service to the Legal and Internal Compliance functions.

In addition, the provision of administrative support to key business support functions, including Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Responsible Care, Finance, Purchasing, IT, Facilities and Marketing and Corporate Communication as appropriate.

MAIN ACTIVITIES
  • Working closely with the VP, General Affairs to support all company secretarial requirements across the group companies, liaising with Board Directors and external law firms as required.
  • Managing the administration of legal contractual matters, including the legal database, uploading contracts and Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs) as required.
  • To manage the administration of legal and compliance filing systems.
  • To support compliance promotion activities across the company.
  • To administer all requirements relating to effective management of the Compliance Committee.
  • To manage the administration of legal and compliance-related training.
  • To support the key business functions with departmental day-to-day administration, including post, filing, invoicing, and ordering of supplies.
  • Managing the administration of the business support areas of the company intranet, uploading policies and documents as requested.
  • To coordinate company events including All Staff meetings and training programmes as required.
  • To organise the company Christmas party and/or gift arrangements each year.
  • To provide effective administration support to the Strategic Executive Members including diary management and travel arrangements as required.
  • To work on ad hoc projects as assigned by the functions to assist in the achievement of the Company's objectives.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Educated to at least 'A' level standard, ideally degree level, with strong experience in an administrative support role ideally gained in a legal or internal compliance related function.
  • Relevant work experience gained in a legal administrative support role, including company secretarial support would be preferred.
  • Able to work on own initiative, demonstrate a proactive approach to work and the ability to exercise good judgement.
  • Proven IT skills, including use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate with people at all levels.
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise and multi-task.
  • Ability to work calmly and methodically in a busy environment.
  • Ability to work in a changing environment and to meet strict deadlines.
  • Experience of working in a confidential environment with a high level of tact and discretion.

  • VP, General Affairs
  • External law firms as required
  • Key members of the Legal and Internal Compliance functions at SCC in Japan, SCE in Brussels, and other SCC group companies in the UK and overseas.
  • Key business support functions, including, legal, internal compliance, finance, IT, and HR.
  • Senior Leadership Team
  • Liaison with conference centres, travel companies, taxi companies, hotels, and airlines.

Hours:

The role is advertised on a part-time basis, ideally working 10-15 hours over 4 days. However, we remain flexible for the right candidate.
