Our Workplace Engineering team is looking for Automation Engineers who understand what a modern workplace solution looks like and have a proven track record delivering solutions through Automation, Infrastructure and Configuration-as-Code, using tools such as Azure Devops, ARM and Bicep. We're responsible for technical change to the colleague services and strategic direction across:

  • Azure core Security services

  • Device, Application & Data Management

  • Collaboration & Unified Comms (Voice, Video, SharePoint, Email)

  • Office Engineering (Telemetry, Add On management & governance)

  • Process Automation

  • Active Directory/Identity & Access Mgt

  • Application & Desktop Virtualisation

  • Cloud (SaaS, PaaS, IoT)

What will you be doing?

As one of our Automation Engineers you will develop the skills to design, automate and test infrastructure solutions for the whole of LBG. You'll be key in the development of these solutions to provide real business benefit. You will be

  • A technology disruptor - challenging the status quo and bringing a new way of thinking about technology change underpinned by modern principles

  • Providing both technical guidance and demonstrating hands on technical expertise in automation whilst designing, building, and implementing workplace technology solutions based on business requirements

  • Operating in a fast-paced environment with the ability to work across different technologies and virtual teams simultaneously with a focus on automation and simplification of delivery

  • Working closely with and influencing vendors to align their products with LBG strategic goals

So, what about your personal skills?

We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate experience and skills in the following areas:

  • Proven experience of coordinating and deploying IT solutions as part of a larger program.

  • Familiar with Agile development practices for delivery (Scrum, Kanban)

  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as such as Azure DevOps and the ability to build and improve CI/CD pipelines for product teams

  • You have a strong knowledge of IaC & CaC automation principles, CI/CD and test automation

  • Demonstrable previous build experience of platforms for large organisations using cloud native tools and design patterns

  • Experience of migrating / implementing VDI workloads solutions into Azure Cloud Infrastructure platforms for Azure Virtual Desktop at scale.

  • Proven ability to make solutions secure by design following cloud security principles such as CIS Benchmarks and NCSC Cloud Security Principals. To ensure security is embedded in every layer of solution deployment.

  • Must have strong coding and scripting skills and confident with the following: - Bicep, PowerShell, Python and JSON

  • Preferable experience of implementing Microsoft 365 E5 components from the ground up.

  • Previous responsibility of contributing and overseeing the production of detailed technical designs.

  • You have experience of administering version control systems such as GitHub enterprise.

  • Have experience of single source configuration for O/S images using Packer or similar

  • Experience of Citrix would be beneficial

We are also looking for a candidate with experience across some of these technologies:

Endpoint related;

  • Microsoft Endpoint Manager, Office 365, Teams, Azure Active Directory, AirWatch, JamF, Google Workspace

Cloud related;

  • Azure, Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud Platform

Security related;

  • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint, Azure Sentinel, Microsoft Cloud App Security

***This role can be based out of our Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Leeds or London hubs - we're mainly looking for the above skillsets. The broad base salary banding across the UK is from £53,000pa to 80,000pa. Salaries in the London area will be reflected towards the upper end of this bracket***
