Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

54-year-old lady who lives with her mother in the Ely area of Cardiff is looking to employ a personal assistant to support her with her everyday needs.

Her disability was caused by an accident she had when she was young. She suffered brain damage and is unable to walk or use her left side. She is a wheelchair user and manual handling training will be required.

Her interests are going to the pub, going swimming, going shopping and generally meeting new people and living life to the full ie having a laugh.

She will require assistance with her personal, domestic and social life to enable her to live as independently as possible.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To enable me to live as independently as possible.

PLACE OF WORK

In my home and out in the Community.

HOURS OF WORK

Maternity cover only.

15 hours per week.

5 hours a day on Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday 12- 5pm

RATE OF PAY

GBP9.26 per hour

TASKS INVOLVED

Support with personal care- showering & dressing (usually on a Wednesday).
All aspects of personal care will be required
Support out in the community to activities she enjoys. She usually goes to Bingo on Weds, Thurs and Sundays.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A probation period will be necessary in the first instance. Wages will be paid 4 weekly. You will receive 5.6 weeks paid holiday (pro rata). You will be required to apply for a DBS check at no expense to you.
