The Graphics & Data Support OB Team is at the forefront of the convergence between traditional broadcast and IT cultures on Sky's high profile outside broadcasts, from the far-flung corners of the world on F1 to the prestigious football stadiums of the UK. From IP transmission to VR graphics, Sports analysis to data feeds, M6 toll road to Houston Airport the Outside Broadcast area is a chance for motivated individuals to excel.

 


What you'll do:

 

* Attend outside broadcasts and ensure that high quality proactive maintenance and reactive support is provided for the Graphics and Data Systems on which Sky's Production business depends.
* Support, maintain and build live remote broadcast solutions at Osterley on a shift pattern.
* Configure and test broadcast equipment before deployment and ensure system documentations are up to date and relevant
* To ensure that tasks are always coordinated properly in a time critical manner for the hand over and hand back of live systems.
* To ensure adequate follow up of incidents to prevent repetition of any faults and improve future system availability and team response.
* Escalate to relevant department if required; provide feedback from the department on resolution of incidents.

 


What you'll bring:

 

* Experience within a digital television broadcast environment or similar technical environment.
* Experience of providing successful technical solutions through to BAU Operation
* Excellent communication, customer service and be self-motivated.
* Knowledge of video and audio routing using current broadcast[SR1] standards and experience of technical problem solving.
* Windows 10 Installation & Administration, PowerShell & VB scripting Skills with a strong understanding of Networking and how to debug IT problems.
* Knowledge of Real Time Renderers such as VizRt, ChyronHego, Unity, Unreal Engine; Cloud Technologies such as AWS & Azure; Video encoding and transport streams.
