XD is one of 4 pathways on the BA Fine Art course at Central Saint Martins. As a lecturer within this pathway your responsibilities will include teaching, assessment, unit management, curriculum development and research in fine art practice.

You will work within the XD Pathway which considers art outside the gallery context. You will be required to support students across a range of media (digital and analogue) and critically engage in reflexive, experimental and discursive processes, encouraging engagement and reflection within a framework of studio and workshop practices and the histories of these practices.

Your profile

Requirements of the role:

  • Undergraduate degree in Fine Art or associated subject
  • Experience of teaching & assessment in a higher education environment (permanent, fractional, or hourly paid contract)
  • Experience and fluency with online teaching platforms
  • Applies an inquiring, innovative and reflexive approach to teaching
  • Considers equality, diversity and inclusivity in all aspects of teaching and assessment
  • Shows commitment to understanding the range of students' experiences within a course
  • Collaborates and works effectively within a team and across different professional groups
  • Works effectively and respectfully with a wide range of people
  • Evidence of research, knowledge exchange and/ or professional practice that contributes to the advancement of Fine Art and is relevant to the Vision of the Programme, College and University
  • Evidence of using contacts within subject peer group to develop partnerships or collaboration
  • Plans, prioritises and manages resources effectively to achieve objectives
  • Higher degree (e.g., MA) in Fine Art or associated subject (Desirable)
  • Teaching qualification (PG Cert or equivalent) (Desirable)
  • Member of the Higher Education Academy (Desirable)
