We have a new opportunity for a Caretaker working part-time on a permanent basis.

Position: Caretaker

Location: London

Hours: Part-time, 18.75 hours per week

Salary: £19,350 + £4000 London Living Allowance (pro rata)

Contract: Permanent

Benefits: Opt-in to the auto-enrolment pension scheme or enhanced rate scheme, 25 days’ holiday per year (plus bank holidays), 10% salary increase after 12 months' service, dependent on work performance, family friendly benefits providing enhanced maternity, paternity, shared parental leave and adoption, Riverside Rewards scheme and app.

Who you’ll be helping

The hostel offers an excellent standard of accommodation and facilities for 92 homeless people.

What will you do?

As a trusted member of the team, you will be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive caretaking service to ensure the accommodation is secure and of the highest standard whilst providing an effective caretaking service for specified schemes.

Day to day

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • To provide effective communal cleaning and gardening services to all schemes
  • To ensure that all services, communal equipment and fixtures and fitting are regularly inspected and maintained in good working order.
  • To liaise with Team Leaders, Support Workers and contractors to ensure repairs are carried out quickly and efficiently. To post inspect repairs as necessary.
  • To be available to service users as a point of contact
  • To prepare rooms for letting if needed and inspect void properties

 

Does this describe you?

We’re looking for someone who has an understanding of team work and awareness of appropriate reporting systems.

It is essential you have Knowledge/ Experience of effective action of repairs and maintenance with the ability to review the progress of such repairs.

You will be able to demonstrate IT Skills to include a basic proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word and Excel as well as a willingness to learn specific IT systems used; and complete relevant IT training where required.
