Job description

As our records manager you will be responsible for the effective and appropriate management of all our records from their creation, right through to their eventual disposal. We will look to you to manage both onsite and off-site storage of records, both physical and electronic ensuring they are compliant with legislation and Government policy.

Responsibilities

Your duties will include:
• to write and undertake the necessary audits of procedures and to train the necessary staff to follow these procedures.
• to support the Information Asset Owners (IAO) in their IA responsibilities, including specifically advising on retention.
• to ensure DVSA retention is reviewed for all assets annually and is auditable.
• to manage the onsite and offsite storage and contract arrangements for physical records.
• to work with stakeholders to agree the management of records and to keep them updated and report on any service level agreements.
• to construct relevant Information Management policies and ensure these are reviewed in line with the policy review process.
• to support the Senior Records Manager and the implementation of a new electronic file structure for DVSA, including necessary reporting.
• staff Management.

About you

To thrive in this role, you are someone who is thorough in their work, with great attention to detail; allowing you to quickly and easily identify issues and reactively offer solutions.

You enjoy educating, influencing and working with others, encouraging them to make the right decisions in line with legislation and policy.

You have excellent communication skills both written and verbally, enabling you to communicate in a positive and professional manner across all levels both internally and externally.

You are someone who enjoys having the autonomy, responsibility and challenge that will come with leading a team.

It is essential that you already hold or are willing to work towards RM qualifications to Master’s Level and CESG Certified Professional Scheme - Security Information Risk Advisor – Practitioner.

This vacancy is using Success Profiles, and will assess your Behaviours, Strengths and Experience.
